The story of a high-ranking US official being paid by an Iranian firm for speaking in the country’s favor seems to be gaining some steam: the firm allegedly was behind “a premeditated program of corruption” that included bribery and corruption, as Fox News reports. So what constitutes a leak when it involves government officials and actions and partnerships with other countries? Kevin Gosztola joins RT’s Kristine Frazao for more.

Today the media was still obsessed with Romney’s trip across the pond. They focused on that instead of covering a massive anti fracking protest planned for this weekend. But it really isn’t that surprising considering they have ignored other recent fracking headlines, so we tell you what’s up, and what the mainstream media decided to miss.

Today the media has been going nuts that the senate actually did something. But while they are falling all over themselves about a symbolic vote in the senate, they are completely ignoring the Audit the Fed bill that passed in the house.

While the media is obsessed with the politics of the economy and the upcoming election, it turns out the US economic policy debate that we see playing out in Washington, is all a sham. That’s the headline coming from Bloomberg today as they look at a survey conducted by the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business. And it’s a survey of leading economists from all sides left, right, and in the middle. And to make things worse the gridlock cost us 1.3 billion dollars.

Today while the Mainstream media is busy focusing on the election rat race and everything else under the sun that doesn’t have to do with military spending, we want to tell you about a report released this week by the Congressional Budget Office The report shows that the 5 year spending plan outlined by the Pentagon earlier this year, will be 123 billion dollars over budget. That’s over budget in the sense that it would violate budgetary limits that have been set by Congress. And guess what, just earlier this week we told you that was going to be the case, that they were spending with reckless abandon.

Today the media is going crazy over the jobs report and what it means for the economy But we’re asking a question that they aren’t. Why aren’t we investing in infrastructure jobs? A week has gone by since a derecho went through DC, and there are still people left without power. So obviously the infrastructure needs work.

Today the media was all over the place, covering all kinds of stories. But we’ll tell you one story you wouldn’t have heard about watching them. Starting today, July 2nd, and until July 10th, more than 600 representatives from 11 countries will be meeting to discuss the Trans Pacific Partnership Agreement. Those countries include…the US, Australia, Brunei, Chile, Malaysia, new Zealand, Peru, Singapore, Vietnam, Mexico and Canada.

This thing is the biggest trade agreement in US history. And, as we’ve told you before on the show….it’s for the most part, being discussed in complete secrecy! We’ve seen a few leaks here and there, including a few weeks ago. And those that studied the documents overall concluded that the agreement gives multinational corporations a lot more power. But the Mainstream Media doesn’t think it’s worth covering.
